He made the call at the Air Force base in Yola when he visited officers assigned to Operation Lafiya Dole, the military operation against Boko Haram.

Correspondent Owolabi Adenusi reports that the military boss was at the Air Force base in Yola to inspect the newly introduced fighter aircraft – M135, bought to be used in the ongoing counter-insurgency operation in the northeast.

He was represented by the Chief of training and Operation, Air Vice Mashal Abubakar Iya who was satisfied with the state of the aircraft, and other facilities on ground.

Air Vice Mashal Iya asked Nigerians to be patient with the military, as war on insurgency would be won very soon.

With the new fighter jet, the Chief of Air Staff is optimistic his men would soon flush what remains of Boko Haram from Sambisa forest.

Boko Haram had presided over a reign of terror since 2009 when its founding leader Mohammed Yusuf was killed at a Police Station.

An estimated tens of thousands have been killed and more than 2 million displaced, but the terror group has been decimated in the last two years, and the rest of its fighters pushed deep within Sambisa Forest, an area covering some 500 square kilometres.
