Nigeria has been announced as the host country for the Creative Africa Forum (CAF) 2025, scheduled to take place in Lagos from October 16 to 18, 2025.

The event is expected to draw over 1,000 participants from across Africa and Europe, making it one of the continent’s most significant gatherings for the creative sector.

The announcement was made by Hannatu Musa Musawa, Nigeria’s Honourable Minister of Art, Culture, Tourism and Creative Economy. She described the Forum not just as a major event, but as “a declaration that Nigeria is ready to lead” Africa’s creative transformation.

Musawa highlighted the dynamic growth of Africa’s creative industries—including Afrobeats, Nollywood, animation, gaming, AR/VR, digital fashion, and sound design—noting that Nigeria is at the forefront of this cultural and economic revolution.

“Our youth are tech-savvy, imaginative and entrepreneurial, already shaping these industries,” the Minister said. “Government’s role is to accelerate their momentum through policy, investment and global partnerships.”

She also stressed Nigeria’s responsibility in driving the continent’s creative economy, calling for stronger regional collaboration, protection of intellectual property, and inclusive growth.

The Federal Ministry, she added, is working on a new policy framework aimed at supporting innovation while safeguarding cultural heritage, including plans for creative hubs and export incentives.

Musawa issued a call to investors and stakeholders across the creative ecosystem, urging them to take advantage of the opportunities presented by the Forum.

“This Forum is a call to action—for investors, collaborators, and cultural institutions. Nigeria is open for creative business. For our African peers, it is time to build a united creative ecosystem. And to our creators, your time is now,” she said.

CAF 2025 aims to serve as a catalyst for unlocking the full potential of Africa’s creative industries, positioning Nigeria as a central hub for talent, innovation, and global cultural exchange.
