Nigeria’s agricultural seeds council believes the country is positioned to influence other African countries to realise great potentials in the seed industry and boost agricultural development.
This was part of the message delivered by the acting director general, National Agricultural Seeds Council, while hosting five country delegation on a study tour to Nigeria.
The essence of synergy and capacity building for agricultural development is the foundation of this meeting, as key players in the seed industry from various African nations including Rwanda, Benin Republic, Tanzania, Liberia, and Sierra Leone, converge in Nigeria to contribute to the enhancement of healthy seed production.
Representatives from these countries shared their challenges regarding seed systems, grading processes, trade dynamics, and the digitization of the agricultural sector.
For these delegates, harmonization, spanning policies, structural frameworks, commercialization strategies, and beyond is essential and Nigeria has restated it’s unwavering commitment to this synchronization effort.
