Nigeria, Ghana partner to address border related crimes

Nigeria and Ghana are partnering in order to address border related crimes.

The Nigerian and Ghanaian Immigration Services are aiming to ensure that the borders of both countries are effectively manned.

The Immigration Chiefs announced this in Kano at the passing out parade of the Nigeria Immigration Service Cadets.

The 44th Superintendent Basic Course cadets march past to mark their passing out parade.

396 of them have been trained at the Nigeria Immigration Training School in Kano to protect the nation’s territorial integrity.

Comptroller General of the Nigeria Immigration Service, Muhammad Babandede, and Comptroller General of the Ghana Immigration Service, Kwame Takyi were among Dignitaries at the event.

Nigeria and Ghana are in a partnership to address border related crimes and adopt some protocols of the Economic Community of West African States ECOWAS in order to improve on the security of both countries.

The Nigeria immigration services expresses readiness to step up the fight against banditry ravaging some states in the Northwestern part of the country in collaboration with other security agencies.

With the passing out parade, these Immigration Officers, challenges faced in relation to the control and administration of foreigners,economic activities, issuance and control of travel documents may likely be reduced.
