The Executive Secretary of the Nigerian content development and monitoring board, NCDMB Simbi Wabote, says the board has been able to achieve 54 % investment in local content in the oil and gas sector in Nigeria.

He made this known while addressing newsmen in Abuja about the upcoming Nigerian oil and gas opportunity fair taking place in Bayelsa.

The Executive Secretary noted that the board is targeting 70% of local investment in the oil and gas sector by 2027.

The Nigerian Oil and gas opportunity fair (NOGOF) is a biennial event championed by the Nigerian content development and monitoring board.

NCDMB’s aim in hosting NOGOF is aligned with the Nigerian Oil and Gas industry content development act 2010.

The act mandates the NCDMB to support the development of local capacities and capabilities in the Nigerian oil and gas industry.

This will be the 4th edition of NOGOF.

The 1st and 2nd editions were hosted in Akwa Ibom and Bayelsa states respectively, while the 3rd edition was hosted virtually due to covid 19.

This 4th edition is scheduled to hold on the 18th and 19th of May 2023 in Bayelsa state.

The theme for this year’s edition is ‘’ The oil and Gas – catalyst and fuel for the industrialization of Nigeria.

This year’s focus is on showcasing the various opportunities available in the oil and gas industry in order to foster partnerships that will drive development in the sector.

At NOGOF 2023, there will be technical and opportunity sessions for various stakeholders, as well as an exhibition that will enable networking opportunities for delegates and allow organizations to distinguish themselves.

A compendium of Nigeria’s content opportunities in the oil and Gas industry 2023 has been prepared, which will be made available to all delegates at the event.
