About Eighty Thousand illegally refined Automotive Gas Oil and over a Hundred Thousand illegally sourced crude oil were discovered at an illegal bunkering site uncovered by men of the Nigerian Navy Forward Operating Base Formoso, in the Nembe Creek, Bayelsa State.

The commanding officer of the base, Navy Captain Ifeanyichukwu Charles says more should be expected as the Navy will not rest in its drive to end oil theft in the Niger Delta region.

A swampy section of the Mangrove forest in the Nembe Creek led naval forces headed by the Commanding Officer, Nigeria Navy Forward Operating Base, Formoso, Navy Captain Ifeanyichukwu Charles to an illegal crude oil bunkering site previously discovered by surveillance drones stationed nearby.

Although no suspects were found on site, investigations revealed about 10 active ovens were used to refine the illegally sourced crude oil at the location.

The criminals were warned to desist from such nefarious activities as the navy expresses determination to hunt down those involved in the crime.

The products left behind and all the artisanal pieces of equipment are destroyed and set ablaze by the Navy to curb any further occurrences in the area.
