The expansion of the Berger to Kara axis of the Lagos-Ibadan expressway, has begun with officials ensuring the diversion of traffic into Lagos and outside the state.
The Lagos-Ibadan expressway, a major road going in and out of lagos, is one that’s critical to Nigeria, but today, it’s undergoing a major expansion that will last for a month.
From Berger axis to Kara on the outskirts of Lagos, the federal govt will begin rehabilitation works.
The ever-busy expressway has suffered serious neglect over the years as little efforts were made to update the facility to meet the demands of over 250, 000 vehicles going in and out of Lagos on a daily basis.
Already provision has been made for diversions such that motorists don’t have to experience traffic which has been a main feature of the expressway.
As regards security, that has been sorted as the police has deployed men along the expressway.
This is the third time in 11 months, that the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway will be shut-down partially to enable the commencement of rehabilitation work on a section of the major carriageway.
