The Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, has called on foreign investors to seize Nigeria’s favourable investment climate as an opportunity to invest in innovation, infrastructure and human capital to foster aviation success in Africa.
According to a Monday statement shared on the official X handle of the Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority, the Minister stated this during the three-day flagship platform organised by the Nigeria-Belgium- Luxembourg Business Forum held on the 22nd to 24th October 2025, in Belgium.
The statement revealed that Keyamo, who was represented by the Director-General of Civil Aviation, Capt. Chris Najomo, at the event, themed: “Solidifying Viable Partnership to Economic Growth & Sustainability,” also restated the Federal Government’s commitment to bold reforms, inclusive development, and regional integration.
The statement reads, “The Honourable Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, has called on international investors to take advantage of Nigeria’s favourable investment climate to co-invest, co-innovate, and co-develop the infrastructure, technology, and human capital that would define the next generation of aviation in Africa.

“The Hon. Minister noted that these reforms, including Nigeria’s ratification and Implementation of the Cape Town Convention and the adoption of the Irrevocable Deregistration and Export Request Authorisation (IDERA), have mitigated investment risks, streamlined aircraft acquisition processes, and guaranteed investors’ security by safeguarding financiers’ rights in the event of default.
It added, “These measures, he said, have unlocked new financing opportunities, supported fleet expansion, and bolstered long-term industry competitiveness, positioning Nigeria as an attractive market for global investment.
“According to Keyamo, key opportunities prioritised to accelerate growth include the expansion of airport capacities, the establishment of world-class Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul facilities, and the optimisation of cargo logistics, green aviation projects such as solar-powered airports, carbon-neutral infrastructure, financing fleet modernisation through developed financial instruments, and trade partnerships.
