Governor of Enugu state, Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi has inaugurated a 6-man petroleum regulatory committee to ensure undisturbed supply of petroleum products across the state until the union crisis is abated.
This following an Executive Order recently issued by the Governor prohibiting the activities of the Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria.
The committee is to ensure absolute maintenance of public order, sustainable supply of petroleum products in all filling stations and ensure abundant distribution of petroleum products in the state.
Enugu state chapter of IPMAN has been in crisis resulting in alleged cult activities, gun battles and threat to public order and human lives and property.
Governor Ugwuanyi instructed the newly inaugurated committee to ensure it delivers on the mandate and excuse itself from meddling into the protracted IPMAN leadership crisis.
Leader of the committee, expressed delight in being called upon to serve the state in that capacity and promised to deliver on their core mandate.
The executive order by the governor had prohibited the activities of IPMAN in Enugu State because the association could manage its internal issues which went violent.
