Gov Idris presents 2025 budget of N580b to Kebbi Assembly

Kebbi State Governor, Nasir Idris, on Wednesday presented the state’s proposed 2025 budget amounting to over N580.33 billion.The 2025 budget tagged ” Economic and Infrastructural Consolidation” is expected to be funded with an estimated IGR of about N25.98 billion.

Dr. Idris said that the recurrent expenditure for the year stood at N127.4 billion, with a personnel cost of about N57.93billion and an overhead of over N70.21bilion so as to ensure that the ease of doing business will be by improving.

He added that his administration is also poised to putting the state’s economy on a pedestal of development, in the face of daunting challenges occasioned by the removal of the petroleum subsidy.

The Governor restated that the Koko-Mahuta road was captured in the budget and the Flag-off for the reconstruction of the road would soon take place.

Dr.Idris also expressed happiness that the 2024 budget had helped to ensure the fulfillment of his various campaign promises, resulting in the massive infrastructural revolution, promising to the happy tempo tempo in 2025.

He extolled the extant cordial relationship between the executive and legislative arms of government, acknowledging the sustained commitment and cooperation of the State House of Assembly.

In response, the Deputy Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Mohammed Samaila Bagudo, assured the governor of the legislature’s commitment to a speedy review and passage of the budget.
