Image result for FUOYEThe Non Academic Staff Union and the Senior Staff Association at the Federal University Oye-Ekiti, Ekiti State are threatening to down tools if the School Management does not reverse the backdoor recruitment, pay outstanding allowances and bonuses, and give due promotion to deserving members.

The Members of the Union staged a protest at the gate of the University, where they restricted vehicular movements in the institution as they closed one of the gates of the school

Responding to the demands by members of the Union, the Vice chancellor of the University, Prof Kayode Soremekun debunked claims by the members of the union on issues raised, stressing that due promotion of Staff is a norm in the public service, but since the establishment of the University, workers of the institution refused to sit for promotion examinations and his insistence on this, is the reason for the protest by NASU and SSANU

It would be recalled that this is not the first time FUOYE Workers have engaged the school management on issues, as this has become a recurring decimal with the institution.
