The Nigerian Correctional Service has declared all correctional centres across the country, Red Zones, ahead of the planned nationwide protest, calling for the release of Nnamdi Kanu, on Monday, October 20, 2025.
In a statement signed by Public Relations Officer, Umar Abubakar, the NCoS warned that all correctional facilities nationwide are restricted areas and advised the protesters to stay off, to avoid any security breaches or untoward incidents.
The statement urges protesters to exercise caution and cooperate with security agencies to ensure peace and public safety, stressing the importance of respecting restricted areas such as correctional centres.
TVC previously reported that the Nigeria Police Force has debunked a viral media report that claimed the Federal High Court in Abuja blocked the police’s attempt to halt the #FreeNnamdiKanu protest, saying it never approached the court to stop the demonstration.
