The management of the Dangote Industries says only a section of the Dangote Petroleum Refinery was gutted by Wednesday’s fire outbreak.
Dangote Industries Limited management says the incident occurred at only the Effluent Treatment Plant (ETP).
An ETP is a type of wastewater treatment method which is specifically designed to purify industrial wastewater for its reuse — to release safe water to the environment from the harmful effects caused by the effluent.
The management in the Statement discloses that the inferno had been contained, stressing it was a minor incident.
According to the Dangote Industries statement, “We have swiftly contained a minor fire incident at our Effluent Treatment Plant (ETP), today Wednesday 26th of June.
Dangote Industries through the Dangote refinery commenced production of diesel and aviation fuel recently.
In May 2023, former President Muhammadu Buhari inaugurated the 650,000 barrels per day (bpd) capacity refinery.
