Nigeria is set to host a world-class university as the Federal Government finalises plans with the University of Birmingham to establish a campus in the country.

Education Minister, Tunji Alausa, recently visited the university’s Dubai campus to conclude discussions ahead of the formal signing scheduled for January 2026.

This partnership is a move that supports President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda on human capital and technological growth.

During his visit to the University’s Dubai campus, Minister of Education, Tunji Alausa, finalised talks on the project, with the University of Lagos chosen as the Nigerian partner.

The agreement, expected to be signed in January 2026, will focus on undergraduate and postgraduate training in key fields such as Artificial Intelligence, Robotics, Engineering, and Data Science.

This partnership aims to strengthen Nigeria’s education system, boost manpower development, and advance the nation’s drive toward a one trillion dollar economy by 2030.
