The Federal Executive Council FEC, on Wednesday approved the construction of two roads to Niger Republic, as part of plans to improve trade and business activities between Nigeria and Niger Republic.

Minister of Works and Housing, Babatunde Fashola disclosed this to State House Correspondents after the weekly Federal Executive Council meeting presided over by President Muhammadu Buhari

The two roads include Balle Kurdella road from Sokoto to Niger Republic at the cost of N9.57b and the 50 kilometers Kunya road in Jigawa State, that will also terminate at the border between Nigeria and Niger Republic at the cost of N19.763.

The council also approved the completion of the kontagora/Auno dam and irrigation project and an award of contract for refurbishment of the Accident Investigation Bureau’s Office, in Abuja.

Ministry of water resources’memo seeking an extension to the consultancy service of an irrigation project was also granted.

Most of the approval of contracts granted were previously abandoned projects, but President Muhammadu Buhati says his administration will work to complete all unfinished infrastructure in the country.
