Family members, friends and colleagues of the late Greatness Olorunfemi have commenced a two-week campaign to advocate for a better and more secure transportation system within the federal capital territory.

In the same vein, they are also seeking a thorough and independent investigation to get justice over her death.

Greatness fell victim to the “once chance’ trend that seems to be creeping in as an epidemic within the nation’s capital city.

Over the last few days, there have been several reactions following a video that went viral on the 27th of September concerning the Maitama district hospital, after it was alleged that staff on duty failed to give emergency care to a one chance victim who needed urgent life saving care.

Greatness Olorufemi was rushed into the hospital premises by good Samaritans after sustaining a fatal stab wound during the experience.

The harrowing tale of Greatness’ last moments are told by another victim of the same one chance cab that picked both of them that evening.

It has obviously been a traumatic period for the father of the deceased as he finds it hard to come to terms with the reality of her passing.

Greatness had actively belonged to several bodies and organizations who all want one thing, Justice!

In a swift response by the hospital management of the Maitama district hospital, discloses that an independent investigative panel to probe the events of that evening has been set up.

Over time, many Nigerians have died due to the refusal to provide emergency treatment by health facilities when patients come in with gunshot or stab wounds without a police report.

The national health act states in section 20 subsection 1 and 2 “A healthcare provider, health worker or health establishment shall not refuse a person emergency medical treatment for any reason.

A person who contravenes this section commits an offence and is liable on conviction to a fine of N100,000.00 or imprisonment for a period not exceeding six months or to both.”

A few days after the death of Greatness, the FCT police command commenced investigations to find the suspects, which are still are ongoing.
