A competition on statistical inference , a core course in statistics which is equally mathematical formed the thrust of the competition amongst young Nigeria students.
Winners are now being awarded. The winners say the competition has been beneficial to their statistical knowledge. They advised other young people to develop interests in statistics so the country could benefit from their wealth of statistical knowledge.
The statistical competition has held for two years now. It focused on probability distribution last year.
It’s organisers hope the efforts being put into it will impact the country’s statistics data gathering and interpretation process for economic
planning purposes.
