The Commissioner of Police, Lagos State Command, Hakeem Odumosu says any erring police officer in the state must face the consequences of his actions.

Speaking at different meetings held with  Area Commanders, Heads of Department, Divisional Police Officers and SARS operatives, he re-echoed the directives of the Inspector-General of Police on the Standard Operating Procedure for SARS and other tactical units.

He also made it clear that he was going to arrest and prosecute any personnel who flouts the IGP’s directives.

The Police boss appealed to the general public to collaborate with the police in the fight against police brutality, harassment, incivility and extortion in the State.

And despite the ban on operatives of the federal special anti-robbery squad from conducting patrols, stop and search and indiscriminately checking the phones and laptops of young Nigerians, some Nigerians have accused some officials of the police unit of still engaging in such activities

To express their displeasure over these occurrences, some Nigerians in Lagos have decided to stage a peaceful protest.

They will be be gathering at the entrance of Lekki phase one at 9am from where they will move to other parts of the state.

The protest is spearheaded by some entertainers, amongst them is Azeez Fashola popularly known as Naira Marley.
