Environmentalists are seeking new strategies to mitigate the impact of oil exploration on host communities, in the Niger Delta.
They are concerned about the absence of a legislation, that protects oil-bearing communities from the negative effects, of oil exploration.
This was their focus during the 2019 Nigeria Resource Justice conference held in Port Harcourt.
The conference was organized by the Social Development Integrated Center, as part of advocacy for practices and policies that protect oil producing communities, their rights and livelihoods.
