Governor of Enugu state, Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, has reassured the people of the state that his administration will continue to promote peace in order to enhance good governance and rapid development.
The governor said he is not taking the existing peace in the state, for granted. He made this known at the inauguration of some projects executed by the Aninri Local Government Area council chairman, Ezekiel Chukwu.
Addressing the audience at a reception organized in his honour, at the instance of the former deputy president of the senate, Senator Ike Ekweremadu, Governor Ugwunanyi said development would not be achieved under an atmosphere of chaos and despair.
He promised to improve on the peaceful atmosphere that has brought about development across the 556 communities in the state.
The former deputy president of the senate, appreciated the governor for his support and kind disposition to the people of his local government.
He pointed out that the peace campaign championed by the state government has endeared people across political divides to show interest in the development of the state.
The people of the Local council described the two projects commissioned as imminently important to the people’s development, according to them, such rapid progress could only be achieved in an atmosphere of peace and cohesion domicile in the state.
The projects inaugurated by Governor Ugwuanyi include a fully equipped block of classrooms at Community Primary school, Amacharauka, Oduma. And other developmental projects.
