Emirates Airlines and Air Peace have officially activated a new bilateral interline agreement aimed at improving air connectivity between Africa, the United Arab Emirates and several major international destinations.

The agreement, which builds on the existing relationship between the two carriers, allows passengers to enjoy seamless single-ticket travel and simplified baggage transfers on selected routes. This is expected to make journeys more convenient and reduce travel stress for customers flying across the partner networks.

In a joint statement, the airlines said the expanded arrangement goes beyond the 13 Nigerian cities already accessible to Emirates passengers through Air Peace. Under the new terms, travellers can now connect to Banjul in The Gambia and Dakar in Senegal via Abidjan, as well as Freetown in Sierra Leone and Monrovia in Liberia via Accra.

The carriers noted that the additional routes would give more travellers access to Emirates’ global network and premium services, while strengthening regional travel options across West and Central Africa.

“The agreement allows Air Peace to connect its extensive West and Central African route system into Emirates’ hub in Dubai, and on key destinations including London Heathrow, London Gatwick and London Stansted, Abidjan, Accra and, of course, Lagos. With huge demand for travellers from Nigeria into the UK, the additional flight options provide more choice for Air Peace passengers,” the statement said.

Emirates’ Deputy President and Chief Commercial Officer, Adnan Kazim, said the partnership would help the airline deepen its presence on the African continent while supporting tourism and economic growth.

“Enhancing our interline partnership with Air Peace allows us to expand our footprint across more of Africa, creating new opportunities for people to fly better with Emirates, while helping international tourists explore more of the region, via Lagos. We remain committed to working with strategic partners such as Air Peace to further strengthen Nigeria’s aviation, tourism and trade sectors,” he said.

Also speaking, Air Peace Chief Commercial Officer, Nowel Ngala, described the agreement as a strategic move in the airline’s long-term growth plan.

“This partnership with Emirates is a strategic step in Air Peace’s vision to connect Africa more efficiently to the world. By integrating our regional strength with Emirates’ global reach, we are providing our passengers with seamless connections, shorter travel times, and a more comfortable end-to-end journey. It reinforces our commitment to making Air Peace a strong bridge between Africa and the global aviation market,” Ngala said.
