DPR, NSCDC seal off Illegal Gas stations in Lagos

Image result for DPR, NSCDC seal off Gas stations over safety concerns in LagosThe Department of Petroleum Resources in collaboration with the Nigerian Civil Defence Corp have sealed off some Liquefied Petroleum Gas Stations in Ayobo and Igando area of Lagos.

After the exercise reports reaching us shows that the seals have been broken by the affected stations a move the department frowns at.

The DPR as promised continued its monitoring exercise, but this time to assess the level of compliance to standards, site suitability of gas stations operating across Lagos state.

According to them, the proliferation of fuel and gas stations across the state is attaining another dimension, as many residents are worried.

Petrocam gas station has been found wanting as it shares its fence with residential buildings and further more is located under high tension cables.
The station was sealed off immediately by the team.

The next stop was at Gas land station where the monitoring team also noticed some short comings with regards to safety in the operations of the plant.

Less than twenty four hours after the closing the Petrocam Gas Plant, reports coming in shows that the plant has again being opened for operations, a development that the department says will attract more sanctions for the owners of the plant.
