Customs FOU Zone ‘A’ intercepts 329 sacks of Pangolin scaled

Customs Operatives of the Federal Operations Unit Zone A has intercepted 329 sacks of Pangolin scales valued at more than one point seven billion naira.
A Chinese national has also been arrested in connection to the seizure which is an export prohibition.

The area comptroller, Mohammed Uba explained that the items were intercepted following intelligence report.

He noted that recent events indicate that Chinese Nationals are involved in the illegal export of Pangolin Scales, considering that this is the second seizure of sacks of Pangolin scales and the second Chinese National the command has intercepted within one month.

The Chinese National stated that he has the backing of his home country to trade in Pangolin scales.

Comptroller Uba however insists that trading in Pangolin scales is illegal.
