Today, the 27th of August, makes it 6 months that the first case of COVID-19 was detected in Nigeria.
It’s been a war against one of the worst pandemics that the world has ever witnessed.
Lagos state remains the epicentre of the pandemic in Nigeria recording a total of 18,035 confirmed cases.
The NCDC recorded 221 cases of COVID-19 overnight, taking the country’s total number of cases to 53,021.
Plateau recorded the highest number of new infections with 60 new cases followed by the FCT with 33 cases.
Other states with high numbers include; Kaduna with 26 new cases, Rivers state had 18 while Lagos recorded 17 new cases.
So far, 40,281 people have been discharged while 1,010 people have died from Covid-19 complications.
