Nigeria is celebrating a milestone achievement and getting 60 million people fully vaccinated and about 72 million receiving at least one dose of the covid-19 vaccine.
As a result of these are covid-19 restrictions have been recently eased by government but with an appeal to all residents to ensure they take their covid-19 vaccination as well as booster doses to ensure the country beats the virus.

It is time to celebrate achievements for fully vaccinating more than 60 million Nigerians since the country received its first tranche of covid-19 vaccines on the 2nd of March leading to the first set of vaccinations starting on the 5th of March 2021.
Due to the hard work of the government through the presidential steering committee, health workers, traditional leaders and global Partners, Nigeria has been able to reduce deaths from covid-19.
In his remarks, the Executive Director of the National Primary Health Care Development Agency, NPHCDA, Dr. Faisal Shuaib, said the agency implemented different anti-COVID-19 mitigation and containment strategies through sustained partnership and collaboration with partners and stakeholders.
Traditional leaders have played a key role in ensuring that committees are in line with government’s vaccination drive.
On his part, the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, hailed the agency and partners in their fight against the COVID-19 pandemic.
He said, “It has proven that if we apply the same zeal to all sectors in this country, Nigeria will be a better place and will be a role model for the entire world. Pandemics will continue but we cannot rest on our oars, we will continue to work towards how to sensitise the public and the populace, particularly the role that the traditional rulers play, we are the closest to our people, and we are the first point of contact. Our policies are the rallying point for our people, in every community.”
Although, Nigeria has not reached its 70% target, speakers at a meeting organised to celebrate Nigeria’s milestone achievement say they are positive the country has a chance in beating the virus.
