Italy has extended its emergency measures on curtailing the spread of the Coronavirus, which include travel restrictions and a ban on public gatherings, to the entire country.
Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte on Monday ordered people to stay home and seek permission for essential travel.
He said the measures were designed to protect the most vulnerable.
Italy’s Coronavirus death toll jumped from 366 to 463 on Monday, making it the worst-hit country after China.
Cases of the virus have been confirmed in all 20 Italian regions. And the coronavirus has infected more than 113,000 people around the world and killed over 4,000.
Chinese president Xi JiPping is visiting the virus epicenter, Wuhan today for the first time during the pandemic, in what will be seen as a sign that the outbreak there is nearing its end.
