President Muhammadu Buhari has met behind closed door with the president of the Senate, Ahmed Lawan and Speaker of the House of Representatives, Femi Gjajabiamila in a bid to find solutions to the security challenges in Nigeria.
The meeting at the Presidential Villa in Abuja comes one week after federal lawmakers blamed security chiefs for failing to secure the country and called on the president to sack them.
But the two leaders of the legislature refused to suggest that the move will curb rising insecurity, but rather there is need to provide necessary equipment and welfare for the armed forces and the police.
This they said will ensure that they are able to operate and perform efficiently and effectively.
