Suspected armed herdsmen have attacked four communities in Akure North local government areas of Ondo State, killing over twenty farmers.The bandits during the midnight attacks sacked Pastor camp, Sunday village Ademekun camp and Alajido camp within Ala Elefosan.
According to a source, the herders have been attacking different communities and killing farmers unchallenged lately.
The source noted that 14 dead bodies were recovered in the last 48hours while the search for other missing residents continues
He lamented that over 20 people were gunned down during the night raid by the suspected bandits.

Confirming the attacks , the Regent of one of the attacked communities, Ademekun Village, Princess Adelowo Adekemisola, expressed sadness over the killing of more than 14 farmers last weekend by the herdsmen .
The Regent said that her community had been battling with the herdsmen invasion without necessary actions from security agencies
According to her, the herdsmen came through the Edo-Ondo boundary to attack the communities
Spokesperson of the Ondo State Police Command, Funmilayo Odunlami, said the police and other security agencies are working hard to track down perpetrators and to protect other communities around Akure north local council area.
