The Bayelsa state government says it is committed to paying teachers’ salaries and taking care of their overall welfare.
The Commissioner for Education, Jonathan Obuebite made the statement while speaking to journalists at the Ministry of Education where his predecessor Markson Fefegha officially handed over to him.
The new commissioner also expressed a desire to work with labour unions to end industrial actions which are often as a result of delay in salary payments.
