Armed bandits have attacked Police Divisional headquarters in Bungudu Local Government area of Zamfara and kill one police officer.
The Gunmen were said to have invaded the police station Tuesday morning and started shooting sporadically on the building.
Bungudu Local Government is twenty nine Kilometers from Gusau, the state Capital.
A source told TVC NEWS that the Policemen on duty were taken unaware and had to resort to hiding inside the roofing for the fear of being killed.
One of the policemen according to our source mistakenly fell from hiding and that scared the bandits to run for their life.
Sadly, one of the officers, known as Inspector Nura was shot dead inside a police operational van in front of the station and the Terrorists cart away his riffle.
In a related Development, another group of armed bandits invaded Boko village in Zurmi local government, kill one and abducted six women.
Zurmi local government area is also ….. Kilometers from Gusau, the state capital and the town is bordering Katsina state from the north.
This is the second in less than two months Bandits are attacking police in Bungudu Local Government.
On July 11th, Armed bandits ambushed a temporary police checkpoint under same division and killed four officers.
This incident is also coming twenty four hours after former Governor Bello Matawalle accused the state Governor, Dauda Lawal for lack of concentration in the area of Security.
Police authorities in Zamfara through their spokesperson have Confirmed the incident and says normalcy has returned to the area.
