Thousands of All Progressives Congress (APC) supporters in Ogun State took to the streets in Abeokuta, the state’s capital, on Tuesday for a solidarity walk in support for all of the party’s candidates, from the president to the state House of Assembly.

The supporters marched from MKO Stadium to NNPC intersection, where they reaffirmed their support for the APC government at the center, as well as Governor Dapo Abiodun and other candidates.

They claimed that throughout the state’s history, no governor had had the same good effects on them in important sectors as Governor Dapo Abiodun had.

Prince Dapo Abiodun, the governor, addressed the crowd, thanking everyone for their support of the party.

He assured that the state government would continue to assist the party and also implored them to pick up their Permanent Voters Cards (PVC) at the INEC headquarters, cast their ballots for APC candidates on election day in large numbers.

He urged the people of the state to vote for all of the party’s candidates, from president to state assembly, emphasising that the audience demonstrated that the people were actually satisfied with the government’s successes and were not listening to oppositions’ fabricated stories.

Speaking about the march, Alhaji Shuaib Afolabi Salisu, the Ogun central senatorial candidate, said, “I appreciate our people, especially my Ogun central senatorial people from Ifo, Ewekoro, Obafemi-Owode, Abeokuta North, Odeda, and Abeokuta South people who took out time to participate in the walk.” It demonstrates that we are actually prepared.
