Officials of the Lagos State building control agency and Lagos State materials testing laboratory are assessing the cause of building collapse in fagba area of Lagos.
Reports say the 2 storey building under construction caved in around 12 midnight on Wednesday and left 12 persons injured.
Confirming the incident, the Chief Executive Officer of Lagos State Emergency Management Agency, LASEMA Dr Olufemi Oke-Osanyintolu, said no life was lost in the incident. He added that those injured had been evacuated and treated while some were taken to the hospital for further treatment.
“It was a building under construction, and people occupying the building have been evacuated and the injured are responding to treatment.
“No mortalities recorded. All the key stakeholders that are important in managing disaster in Lagos are on ground.
“However the building will be pulled to ground zero for safety of the people living in the area.
“All the buildings adjacent or beside the collapsed building will be subjected to solid material testing, for your information.”
