The trial of the former Chairman of the pension Reform Task Team, Abuldrasheed Maina has been stalled due to the poor state of his health.
At the court this morning, officials of the Nigeria correctional facility came with a medical report issued by a doctor with the facility.
In response to Justice Okon Abang’s inquiry, the prosecutor and even the defence counsel denied knowledge of Mr. Maina’s health condition
In view of the defendant’s absence, his counsel prayed the court for a week adjournment to enable his client get better.
The court adjourned till Thursday for continuation of trial.
Mr Maina is being prosecuted by the anti graft agency on a twelve-count charge bordering on money laundering, operating fictitious accounts and other fraudulent activities.
The court adjourned to 7th November for continuation of trial.
