Three hundred and seventy-one migrants, who were rescued from boats in the Mediterranean Sea arrived in Sicily’s Trapani.
That number included 56 women, seven children under the age of five, including a one-week-old newborn, and 48 unaccompanied minors.
The migrants, mainly of African origin, were rescued in international waters off the Libyan coast and taken to the port by rescue agents.
They were rescued in two operations on Thursday from two rubber boats which the organisation said could have broken or deflated at any moment after having sailed for several hours in the sea.
This comes as the humanitarian organisation SOS Mediterranee said it was incorrect to assume that the flow of migrants in the area had diminished.
