Thirty seven commanders of the Explosive Ordnance Disposal department of the Nigeria police are in Lagos for its first quarterly conference in 2020 with the theme ‘EOD DYNAMICS: Enhancing nuclear and chemical security’.
Senior correspondent Ivy Kanu reports that with what has become a growing spate of reported cases of terrorism and violent crime which at times involve the use of improvised explosive devices, there’s need for the country to fashion out workable ways to checkmate it.
Such is the reason for this conference of senior officers and base commanders.
the commissioner says the conference will afford commanders the opportunity to compare notes and see what they are not doing right in the fight against terrorism in the country.
Acknowledging that there maybe challenges, but in spite of which they cannot afford to fail the nation
The last conference in 2019 had as its theme ‘strategy reassessment in the fight against internal security threat’
