Zamfara state Governor Bello Matawalle has approved the immediate reinstatement of the emir of Birnin Yandoto emirate, Alhaji. Aliyu Garba Marafa after Ten months Suspension

The Traditional ruler was suspended following the traditional title he conferred on a Notorious bandit kingpin, Ado Alero on july 16th 2022

The move according to the emirate was to restore lasting peace in Tsafe and Gusau local government areas where the bandit leader and his gang operates

Ado Aleiro an indegene of Tsafe Local Government was conferred the traditional title of Sarkin Fulanin Yandoto also known as the Chief of Fulani’s

The turbaning ceremony had in attendance saveral bandit leaders and their lieutenants

A press statement signed by the Secretary to Zamfara State Government, Kabiru Balarabe says, the reinstatement is based on the recommendations of the Committee constituted to investigate the reasons behind the conferment of a traditional title to a bandit, Ado Aleru.

The statement adds that the Committee found no evidence of any ill motive or collaboration between the Emir and the bandit, but considered the move as a way of addressing Incessant attacks and Kidnapping in the affected Local Councils.

“Based on the findings of the committee, the traditional title was conferred on the bandit as part of peace building efforts between the bandit kingpin and banditry-affected communities in Tsafe and Gusau Local Government areas and Surrounding Communities” the statement reads.

The reinstated emir is the elder brother to a two term Senator, Kabiru Garba Marafa

This Development is coming barely a month for Bello Matawalle to leave office as Zamfara State Governor after loosing in the march 18th Governorship election

Communities and highways in Tsafe and Gusau local government areas are still experiencing bandits attack and Kidnapping even after the conferment of the traditional title to Ado Alero ten months ago

Over eighty Women abducted in Wanzamai village, in Tsafe Local Government area are still in the hands of their Captors despite payment of Ransom for their release.

The reinstated emir is expected to resume office immediately.
