The zamfara state government will soon enact the death penalty for Bandits and their informants.
Governor Mohammed Bello Matawalle disclosed this while leading heads of security agencies on an assessment visit to Lilo community which was recently attacked by armed bandits .
Lilo Community was recently attacked by armed bandits, Seven people were killed in the attack and many others sustained various degrees of injuries.
Its was just a few days after his inauguration as Governor of Zamfara state, that the incident happened.
Governor Matawalle decided to embark on an assessment tour to the community as restoring security is one of the key areas his administration will be focusing on.
Commiserating with the families of the deceased at the the Lilo Community, the Governor described the act as barbaric and inhuman.
He said his administration would soon enact death penalty for any one found collaborating with bandits and kidnappers .
Many people have fled their homes and are now taking shelter in neighbouring communities such as Mada and Kwatar Kwashi, for fear of another attack .
The Governor stopped over at the temporary internally displaced camp to console the IDPs, assuring them that his government is ready to confront insecurity in the state head on.
