The National Association of Nigerian Student’s NANS has given authorities of the federal University, Gusau two weeks ultimatum to relocate Student’s from Sabon Gida and other unsafe Communities to Gusau to as part of measures to avert reoccurrence of kidnap incident.
The student body also urges the school administration to reconsider the expulsion of several students who took part in the June 17th nonviolent protest against the abduction of their classmates.
During a condolence visit to the school, NANS condemned the act and gave the university a two-week deadline to relocate all students from Sabon Gida and other hazardous communities to Gusau town to avoid a repeat of the heinous incident.
In response, Ahmad Galadima, interim vice chancellor of Federal University Gusau, claims that the institution is making every effort to ensure the abducted individuals’ safe return.
He also praises the bravery of the military personnel who searched for the abducted people’s safe return.
Recall that last Thursday night, armed bandits kidnapped a number of female students at the federal university in Gusau, including some employees of a construction company.
A few days after the attack, sixteen of the victims have so far managed to escape from the bandits’ cave.
Thirteen students and three employees of a construction company who were kidnapped on the same day are among them.
