Yoruba Community In Kebbi Reaffirms Loyalty To Gov. Idris

The Yoruba community in Kebbi State has reaffirmed its unwavering support for Governor Nasir Idris, appreciating his administration’s commitment to inclusivity and development.

The Sarkin Yarbawa of Kebbi, Sa’idu Sakibu, made this known while receiving the Commissioner for Religious Affairs,. Muhammad Sani Aliyu and the Special Adviser to the Governor on Religious Affairs, Imran Usman
who were on an inspection visit to the ongoing construction of the Ansarul Islam Mosque (Masallacin Sarkin Yarbawa) in Birnin Kebbi.

He expressed gratitude to Governor Idris for including the mosque in the state’s 100-mosque rehabilitation project which he said it was only made possible under the Kauran Gwandu administration,

The Sarkin Yarbawa further appealed for the mosque’s be upgraded to Jumu’a status to allow Friday prayers and its inclusion in the Ramadan feeding program.

The Imam of the mosque, Alfa AbdulFatah Salahuddin, and the Yoruba women’s leader also offered prayers for the governor’s continued success, good health, and wisdom.

Responding Commissioner for Religious Affairs. Muhammad Sani Aliyu, relayed Governor Idris’ appreciation to the Yoruba community and encouraged them to sustain their prayers. On the request for Jumu’a status, he advised them to submit an official application to the ministry, fulfilling the necessary criteria.

The Special Adviser to the Governor on Religious Affairs, Imran Usman, disclosed that three Yoruba mosques were included in the 100-mosque with massallacin Sarkin Yarbawa being the largest, costing ₦37 million.

The monitoring team, which included the Permanent Secretary of the ministry, Muhammad Bala Tilli, also inspected other mosques in Birnin Kebbi and its environs. Imams and traditional leaders at the various sites expressed gratitude to Governor Idris for promoting religious values and prayed for his continued success.

Commissioner Aliyu urged residents to remain steadfast in their prayers for the administration’s success and for divine guidance, strength, and good health for Governor Nasir Idris.
