The House of Representatives has called on organised labour to suspend its nationwide strike which has entered its second day.
The Leadership of both chambers of the National Assembly have also agreed to immediately meet with the two labour unions.
Activities have been paralysed at the National Assembly since Tuesday following the enforcement of organised labour’s nationwide strike to protest the physical assault on NLC President, Joe Ajaero.

Lawmakers are at the receiving end of the siege on the national assembly as their Aides could not get access to the premises.
Deputy Speaker, Benjamin Kalu, brings a motion of urgent public importance on the matter, seeking the intervention of the House.
The motion was extensively debated as some members picked on NLC-TUC for disobeying a court order
At the end of all submissions, the House called on the NLC and TUC to suspend the strike.
Meanwhile, The House is to begin a sectoral debate starting with security chiefs on Thursday as part of measures to address Nation’s challenges.
