A Republican bill on police reform has collapsed in the US senate after Democrats said the bill is a toothless response to police brutality.
But United States president, Donald Trump is determined to ensure the bill goes through as he has been vocal over his support of the police amid protests over misconduct and racism.
However, the Democrats are planning next week to bring an alternative – a democratic crafted policing proposal to a vote in their Chamber.
