The US Embassy in Kyiv announced that it had received information of a potentially massive Russian air attack on Wednesday and would close as a precaution.
In a statement, the embassy advised U.S. citizens in Kyiv to be ready to seek shelter right away in the case of an air alert and advised staff to remain indoors.
The warning was exceptional in its precision, considering Russian air raids have become almost everyday occurrences in Ukraine.

But it comes one day after Moscow said U.S.-made longer range missiles had been used in a Ukrainian attack that struck a weapons warehouse in the Bryansk region after U.S. President Joe Biden authorized their use.
In September, Russian President Vladimir Putin stated that if Western countries allow Ukraine to strike deep within Russia with longer-range weaponry, “NATO, the US, and European countries will be at war with Russia.”
And if it is the case, then, bearing in mind the change of the very essence of the conflict, we will be making appropriate decisions based on threats that will be posed to us, Mr. Putin stated.
Russia has recently upped air attacks, conducting intricate combination drone and missile barrages against energy facilities this week as temperatures begin to fall.
