Troops, working in collaboration with local vigilantes, have rescued several kidnap victims abducted by bandits in Lafiagi, Edu Local Government Area of Kwara State.
Security sources said the victims were freed after a coordinated operation that overpowered the bandits and forced them to flee.
The rescued persons have since been reunited with their families.
The sources added that normalcy is gradually returning to the area, though they emphasised the need for sustained efforts to identify and curb the activities of bandit informants who aid criminal operations in the region.
