Troops of Operation Hadin Kai have recorded a significant breakthrough in the ongoing counter-insurgency campaign against Boko Haram and ISWAP terrorists in the North-East.
In the early hours of Monday, 9 June 2025, combined air and ground forces launched coordinated strikes on terrorist enclaves in Nzalgana, Gujba Local Government Area of Yobe State, and the Tumbuktu Triangle in Borno State.
Military sources confirmed that the operation inflicted heavy casualties on the insurgents, including the killing of Ameer Malam Jidda, a high-ranking Boko Haram commander who previously controlled Ngorgore and Malumti villages.
In a related development, troops conducting follow-up operations in the Abadam axis recovered additional bodies of neutralised terrorists, along with a cache of weapons.
The mop-up was linked to a recent offensive in Mallam Fatori, Borno State.
The military reaffirmed its commitment to eradicating terrorist elements and restoring lasting peace and stability to the region.
