Three people are confirmed to have died in the pipeline explosion that occured in the Abule Egba/Ekoro area of Lagos on Sunday night.
The Lagos State Emergency Response Agency, LASEMA and other First Responders who mobilized to the scene activated the State’s Emergency Response Plan and have successfully put out the fire.
Investigations revealed that the inferno was as a result of pipeline vandalisation. Supply to the valve where the petroleum products emanated from had to be stopped cutting off supply to the vandalised pipeline from the NNPC Station.
Several building including an hotel was completely destroyed by the fire
