A 15-man committee has been inaugurated by the Speaker, House of Representatives, Tajudeen Abbas to investigate allegations of terrorism funding in Nigeria.

The committee will meet with the heads of security agencies and non-governmental organisations to determine the authenticity of US Congressman Scott Perry’s allegations.

The recent allegation by the US Congressman, is still generating concerns in Nigeria.

The lawmaker made mind boggling claims alleging that the US agency, USAID funds have been misused to support terrorist organisations.

The Nigerian government is not taking the allegations
lightly; likewise the Senate.

Barely twenty four hours after the Senate resolved to probe the allegation, the House of Representatives followed suit.

In a motion of urgent national importance, Gombe member, Inuwa Garba, believes if not properly investigated, the allegation could undermine Nigeria’s sovereignty

Members declared support for the motion and called for a probe into the activities of non governmental groups operating in the country.

The Speaker later announced a 15-man committee to conduct the probe and interface with heads of security agencies and some ministers.

Nigeria’s ruling party now has an additional member in the House of Representatives as Jigawa state member, Yusuf Galambi, through the Speaker, announced his defection from the NNPP

Kogi state lawmaker, Leke Abejide, may soon attract a Federal medical institution to his constituency in Yagba as his bill scales second reading

He says Yagba East lacks a federal medical centre, which forces his constituents to travel long distances in search of quality medical care.

Addressing parliamentary reporters after plenary, Mr. Garba dismissed the submission of the US Ambassador before the Nigeria Governors’ Forum that Scott Perry’s allegation lacks substance
