The Nyakwala ruling House of Matarfada District of Wukari Local Government of Taraba state is  appealing to Governor Agbu Kefas to intervene in royal crisis created by the demised of Hakimi Matarfada in 2000.

The Jalingo High Court in 2022 ordered the Wukari traditional council to select a new Chief from Nyakwala ruling House and frowned at the selection of none members of the  ruling house as  chief.

Nyakwala is a peaceful  farming Community under Wukari Local Government  area of Taraba state.

It appears that the death of Gambo Sule the district head of Matarfada the last chief of the community is now affecting  leadership in the community.

The Nyakwala ruling house in 2022 challenged Wukari traditional council in the state high  court for attempting to impose an acting district head on the community.

Some members  of the ruling house say there is an attempt to erase their name off the stool that belong to their forefathers who settled in the town in 1300.

But a community leader in Nyakwala Rev Samson Dan-Usman has appealed to Governor Kefas and the Aku Uka of Wukari to put in place a peaceful initiative that would  prevent unforeseen crisis

The chairman of Wukari Local government area is asking  all  aggrieved parties to shield  their swords saying governor kefas administration will leave no stone unturned towards a  peaceful coexistence.

Although some of the farming land belong to  Nyakwala community including Community fishpond which are now  confiscated by Chief of Bantaje.

The Kefas administration has been working hard in promoting unity and coexistence among the nationalities of various tribes that made up  Taraba  state.
