Gunmen suspected to be Fulani herdsmen attacked a number of villagers in Igangan, Ibarapa North Local Government Area of Oyo State, yet again in the early hours of Sunday.
According to residents in the village, the suspected Fulani herdsmen arrived in large numbers and attacked the area, unleashing terror on the people.
Although the total number of fatalities has not yet been determined, TVC news gathered that at least ten lives were lost during the attack.
At least five residents were confirmed shot dead by the attackers while security operatives also killed five during the gun battle.
According to reports, the attackers set fire to the Asigangan’s palace, a gas station, cars, and a truck.
The Oyo state police command is yet to confirm the incidence as at the time of filing this report.
