The Resident Electoral Commissioner in charge of the by-election currently ongoing at Surulere Federal Constituency I, Ayobami Salami says so far the election has been peaceful in all 258 polling units.
He advised political parties to play by the rules and jettison the idea of ballot snatching, vote buying, and thuggery.

In most of the polling units visited in Surulere 1 federal Constituency, political parties have designated ‘town criers’ mobilising voters for Saturday’s election.

The Surulere Federal Constituency I seat became vacant due to the resignation of the former occupant, Femi Gbajabiamila, who after winning, was appointed by President Bola Tinubu as his Chief of Staff.
