Nigeria’s six South-West states will begin collecting data from farm users in order to identify criminals and expose unlawful farming activities.

Boye Ologbese, Ondo State’s Commissioner for Regional Integration and Diaspora Relations, revealed this during a visit to Adetunji Adeleye, State Commander of the Amotekun Corps.

The visit of the Ondo State Commissioner for Regional Integration and Diaspora Relations, Boye Ologbese to the headquarters of the South-West Security Network, codenamed Amotekun in Akure, is coming a few days after he met with his counterpart from Ekiti State.

Top of the discussion is the need for the governors in the South-West to have a security trust fund to support security agencies in the fight against criminalities in the zone.

Ologbese appreciated former Governor Rotimi Akeredolu for establishing Amotekun Corps, as well as the incumbent Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa for sustaining the tempo and providing operational vehicles for security agencies.

He said Governors in the South-West are working on data capturing programme for farm users.

Responding, the State Commander of Amotekun, Adetunji Adeleye said the command has created control points in the forests.

Speaking after the meeting, the Commissioner explained the need for provision of adequate security for businesses to thrive in the zone.

The visit to the Amotekun office has again demonstrated the importance of the corps to provision of security for the people.
